BROCK MYROL MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP

The Brock Myrol Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to one student per academic year from either École Secondaire Notre Dame High School, St Joseph High School, École Secondarire Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School, Hunting Hills High School or Gateway CHristian School.  Applicants must be presently involved in Martial Arts or have been involved previously, and are planning on attending a post-secondary program related to law enforcement or another one of the “helping” professions (eg. teaching, health care, psychology, etc.).  * If there are a number of applications, preference will be given to those students who are currently involved in martial arts, and entering a law enforcement program.    

Eligibility:   Students who are graduating, or have graduated from one of the five Red Deer High Schools:  Notre Dame, St Joseph, Gateway Christian Schoo, Hunting Hills High School or Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School.   

Criteria: Students must present two reference letters – one from a Martial Arts Instructor and another from a high school official (Administrator or Counsellor).  Applicants will also be required to attach a letter explaining why they think they should be considered for the scholarship, and must also provide a letter of conditional acceptance from a recognized post-secondary institution.  

Value of Award:  $500.00  

Deadline: Applications must be submitted by email to the Career Centre at Lindsay Thurber Comprehensive High School, attention Ashleigh Holmes at ashleigh.holmes@rdpsd.ab.ca by 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, 10 May 2024, in order to be considered.
