BACK TO SCHOOL - Classes Start Thursday, August 31, 2023!

AN OVERVIEW: Red Deer Public Schools provides quality educational programs and services to over 11,000 students from Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 within the City of Red Deer. With 22 schools and many specialized programs, we provide a wide range of supports and services to meet the needs of all students. We take great pride in being recognized for:

REGISTRATION INFORMATION: School registration is completed online by CLICKING HERE. Schools will start reopening on August 23, 2023. Please contact your school for further details.

AGE REQUIREMENTS: Students beginning kindergarten must be at least five years old by December 31, 2023.  Students starting grade one must be at least six years old by December 31, 2023.  Any student who has not reached their sixteenth birthday must continue to attend school.

SCHOOL FEES: While families do not pay fees for regular instructional materials and resources, it is important to note that there will still be some fees charged to students. These include fees for optional activities and purchases such as field trips, swim programs, yearbooks, school wear, extra-curricular activities, etc.

At high school a comprehensive fee for student leadership activities and activity transportation will be charged. Students in option courses will also pay for enhanced projects beyond the regular program.

SCHOOL SUPPLIES: Student supply lists are posted on school websites.  Parents are urged not to buy supplies before receiving the list from teachers.
