Click on the links below to find various opportunities to volunteer within the Red Deer community, reasons to begin volunteering at an early age, and a form that can be used to keep track of your volunteer hours.  Many scholarships that you will apply for in your grade 12 years will require a listing of the number of hours you have spent volunteering and giving back to your community so keep track!   Volunteering is very beneficial and important to consider when beginning your grade nine year here at Hunting  HIlls.

Rescue Food  - Volunteers pick up food that would otherwise be thrown out from local businesses and take it to service agencies. Deliveries are to service agencies that have already registered with us and all instructions are in the app. You can pick the routes/times that work best for you and volunteer as often as you like—no regular commitment required. If you would prefer a regular commitment and would like to be the dedicated volunteer for any of the routes listed on the app, email us and we can get you signed up. High School students should be 16 years of age and have a driver’s license and access to a vehicle. If you don’t meet these requirements, you can pair up with a friend who does or parent/adult. Either way we recommend you volunteer in pairs if you can so you have help loading and unloading food.
