Extracurricular
Clubs:
We are proud to offer just under 30 extracurricular clubs at CMS. This is thanks to some fantastic teacher volunteers and some enthusiastic student leaders. For more information, click clubs.
Dawe Run & Terry Fox:
All students participate in the annual Terry Fox Run to support cancer research. Only members of the Running Club participate in the Dawe Run.
Intramurals:
Our Phys Ed department operates a daily intramural program in our gym that attracts upwards of 60 students a day. This might include basketball, dodgeball (including tournament play), volleyball and other games. It's a great place to be on a cold winters day when you can't go outside.
Leadership:
Our leadership program is highly active and organized at CMS. It includes several dedicated leadership classes, a large number of student volunteers as well as a club. Our motto is:
- Service to School
- Service to Community
- Service to World

Ski and Snowboard Club:
Every year, CMS hosts such a club for up to 50 student skiers and boarders. It looks like this:
- Three trips to Canyon (with a lesson each time)
- One trip to Lake Louise for a day of skiing or boarding!
Spirit Days:
Several times a year, we host a Spirit Day with a key lesson or theme. These days bring together the whole school, typically outside in activities and often challenges. These are fun days, often with matching shirts, that help make Central a special place to be.
Track and Field Day:
Every year, all students at CMS participate in a great day over the LTCHS Track. School Council hosts a bbq and students participate in three different track and / or field events. This is full school participation.
X-Country Ski Club:
Mr. Zentner operates a Cross-Country Ski Club every winter. Student members get valuable practice and experience on skis, and get some great trips off school grounds to ski.
