Principals Message

From the Principal

Wow!  It is hard to believe that we have finished two months of school already.  October was a busy month for students and staff at GSTS!

This week we will be having our virtual Remembrance Day ceremony on the 9th which includes a district-wide video and a wreath-laying ceremony that will feature our Remembrance Day choir. There will be a Staff Learning Day on November 10th which means that there will be no school for students from November 10 to 15.  Classes will resume on Tuesday, November 16th.

Although it was just Parent/Teacher Interviews, that doesn’t mean you need to wait to talk to your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns. We welcome communication all year long. We all need to be on the same page in order to do our best for our children. On that note, report cards will be coming out the first week of December. There should be no surprises and it should just reaffirm what you already know about how your child is doing.

I’m sure that most of us have noticed that the days are becoming colder. I would like to remind everyone that with winter weather coming, please ensure that your children are dressed appropriately for the weather.  If you need any assistance in this area, please let us know and we can help.

I want to close by sending out a big THANK YOU to our Glendale families. With all the unsettledness that we have managed in the first two months of school, you have all been extremely supportive and understanding. On behalf of our staff, we greatly appreciate everything you do to support us and make our job easier.

Sandre Bevan
