Welcome back students!  I am so excited to have many of you rejoining us back at the Pines Alternative School for face-to-face learning and teaching, and to warmly welcome you to our new location.

This is my fifth year as the Principal of the Alternative Programs and I am excited for the year ahead. I know there are many of you feeling anxious about getting back to school but the entire Alternative Program staff has worked hard over the summer putting plans into place to ensure that you are as safe as possible and to support you to the best of our ability. Things will look and feel different, but we are all still committed to ensuring that you receive the very best education while in our care. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions, comments, concerns or suggestions.

About Me:

I have two daughters, Sawyer and Norah who both go to Camille J. Lerouge where my wife, Erika, is a Vice-Principal. Most of my free time is spent shuttling the kids around to various activities but I have also developed a passion for cooking (especially bread), golf, and longboarding. If you see me on the trails, please don’t ask me to do a kickflip ;)

My Mission:

  • give every student the opportunity to achieve personal excellence
  • provide a safe and caring environment for all stakeholders
  • hold myself to the highest standards and demand only my best work in all facets
  • exercise professionalism and confidentiality in all aspects of work
  • be accountable for my words and actions
  • embrace diversity and change
  • encourage daily technology use in the classroom
  • have fun on my journey and to learn from my mistakes
  • challenge the status quo, model and encourage risk-taking
  • continuously promote and foster a collaborative environment wherever I go
  • make sure I get adequate exercise, eat well and rest each week
  • be a life-long learner in the fields of leadership, technology and education
