How to Become a Homestay Parent

Would you like to become a Red Deer Host Family for an international student?

Red Deer Public Schools needs host families for International Students for:

• Semester One (September - January) 
• Semester Two (January -June)
• School year (September - June)
• Short term respite placements
• Note the 2023/24  rate will be $850 per month.

Host Families are required to complete the following steps:

• complete the online Host Family Application
• provide an Intervention Record Check for each adult in the household from the Provincial Department of Child Welfare
• provide a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check for each adult in the household from the local police
