Welcome From the Principal

Dear Eagle Families,

I am pleased to welcome you to the 2023-24 school year!  I would like to extend a special welcome to all of the new families joining Eastview this year and welcome back all of our returning families as well! I am honored to be your principal. I have been an administrator for 16 years in Red Deer Public - five at Lindsay Thurber, ten at Central Middle School, and one at Eastview Middle. I am thrilled with the opportunities that we have planned for the students this coming year. 

Our two main school goals this year include:

• A continued focus on our comprehensive Intervention Program to address the learning gaps in Literacy and Numeracy of our students as needed.

• To provide the absolute best experience for our students in and out of the classroom.  This will include providing students with a comprehensive extracurricular program that includes many opportunities in athletics, clubs, and fine arts.

We are committed at Eastview Middle to working together to provide our students with a rich learning environment. My vision, as the principal, is to put kids first! My belief is that all students can learn. As educators, we need to discover how each child learns in order to differentiate our instruction to support diverse learning styles. In a collaborative effort, we want children to thrive in all ways possible. My hope is that all children will enjoy school, and nurture a learning environment that is positive, safe, warm, caring, as well as a fun place to learn and grow.  

Student success is attributed to the partnership and the relationships we build within our community and this is MOST important now more than ever. It truly does take a village and at Eastview we value teamwork and collaboration! Education is a joint venture and Team Eastview greatly appreciates the support you provide for your children at home and at school to help them meet their learning goals.

• We utilize School Messenger on a regular basis to send important and timely information to parents. 

• Please be sure to read our weekly Newsletter, the "Eagle Express."  All Eastview families will receive a weekly email with the newsletter attached.  This is our primary mode of communicating important announcements and event information to parents, and we appreciate you taking the time to "stay in the loop!”.  This information will be shared with parents on Sunday evenings. 

We are excited for the start of this year, and are dedicated to providing your child(ren) a memorable learning experience.
