I am excited to have the opportunity to serve and support the students, parents, and staff of Central Middle School. 2023-24 will be my second year as Vice-Principal and I am thrilled to assist with the abundance of activities and opportunities that CMS has to offer. Prior to my time at Central, I served as Acting Vice Principal at Westpark Middle School in addition to Head of Physical Education and Athletic Director. Before Westpark I had stints at Eastview Middle School, Normandeau School, and Central teaching Math, Science, and English Language Arts over the past twelve years.

Teaching in Red Deer Public Schools has led me to believe that promoting a sense of belonging and community are of utmost importance in the school experience. When students feel comfortable, safe, and welcome, whole child learning can occur. Preparing students with necessary life skills within and beyond the school setting is a passion of mine.

My post-secondary educational background is in Teacher Leadership and Trauma-Informed Education. Through these experiences, I have become passionate about student and staff wellness. In doing so, we can continue to enhance compassion and understanding in an inclusive nature. With this lens, I truly believe that all students can find success in their own way.

This year, I am the Sports Academy contact, as well as the Grade 7 administrator. I am looking forward to assisting with the process of this unique student opportunity. Additionally, I will be teaching Mathematics.

Outside of school hours, you may find me in the gym encouraging our sports teams. In my free time, I enjoy playing all sports, watching my Toronto Maple Leafs, and spending time with my family.
