General Feedback

Ted,

I happened to be browsing the websites to see if schools still had “true middle school” programs.

I just want to say “What an awesome website for your school!”

I taught in a middle school for many years in Littleton, Colorado and “we” did a great job with our community, parents, kids and teachers, in helping everyone understand just how important the middle school years are.

I am now in a “K-8 “ school in Denver, teaching 6th grade and for some reason, since the district has been building “K-8” schools, the middle school philosophy (schedule, classes, advisory and other pertinent components are missing).

Being an outsider, I want to applaud your efforts and say how fortunate your community is to have knowledgeable people promoting what is good for middle school kids.

Is the middle school philosophy desirable or possible in Canada?

Is it possible and/or desirable to approach curriculum in an integrated or integrative manner?

How does one make time for careful backward design?
