Cathy Peacocke became a trustee in 2007.
Cathy holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in mathematics from Dalhousie University.
Previous employment includes serving as an instructor with the Alberta School Council’s Association and as Program Director of the Central Alberta Brain Injury Society.
Cathy has been engaged in public school education for more than fifteen years. Prior to her election as a trustee, Cathy was the chair of five school councils in Red Deer, and ensured the voice of parents was heard at the school, district and provincial level. An active volunteer in many local organizations, Cathy is a strong believer in the importance of community service.
She believes trustees are entrusted with the responsibility of ensuring students are provided with the best possible educational opportunities as they progress through their learning journeys, enabling each student to achieve their full potential.
As a trustee, Cathy’s motivation comes from her belief in the important role communities play in education. She believes she can be responsive to local needs and conditions and work towards preparing students for the world of tomorrow.
Cathy is currently serving her second term as the Zone 4 Director on the Alberta School Boards Association, representing the eight school boards in Central Alberta at the provincial level.
