Spanish Bilingual Program

The Spanish Bilingual Program provides students the opportunity to acquire the basic skills for speaking, reading, writing, listening and communicating in both English and Spanish at a young age.  English and Spanish are used as the languages of instruction, beginning in Kindergarten or Grade 1 and continuing to Grade 12. Currently, spanish as a second language is taught at Lindsay Thurber High School and Hunting Hills High School in grades 9 through 12.  Beginning the fall of 2012, students entering Kindergarten and grade 1 have the opprotunity to enroll in this program which will be housed at  G.H. Dawe Community School. 

An informational meeting for interested parents will take place in the gymnasium at G.H. Dawe Community School - 100, 56 Holt Street. on Tuesday November 15, 2011 at 7:00 pm. 

Registration begins on a first come first served basis commencing Wednesday, November 23, 2011 at 8:00 am at G.H. Dawe Community School office.  There is a maximum 50 places available in the program.
