Learning Services encompasses the areas of
Curriculum and Instruiction is responsible for:
- Providing assistance to teachers in areas of curriculum delivery, instructional strategies and assessment, including the Red Deer Public Schools' focus on Literacy
- Coordination for implementation of new curricula
- Assisting with District Curriculum Working Groups
- Assisting teachers with preparation for PATs, DIPs and analysis of results
- Coordinating professional development opportunities
- Assisting schools in the implementation of AISI projects
- Coordinating the representation and purchasing at the Educational Media Marketplace
- Overseeing the Curriculum and AISI folder in District email
- Liaising with the Central Alberta Regional Consortium
Our FNMI Learning Services provides assistance to teachers and schools in the area of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit (FNMI) education. The program provides cultural experiences for all of the students in the district, but its primary focus is to assist and empower classroom teachers to meet the diverse needs of our FNMI student population.
Information Technology Services is responsible for a wide array of areas ranging from managing the District's wide and local area networks, the acquisition and deployment of instructional and administrative computers, and to provide support and training to the staff of Red Deer Public Schools.
