City Transit Service
City Transit bus service is provided by the City of Red Deer Transit Department and travel along regular and overload City Transit routes. Regular City Transit routes may be changed at the discretion of the City at any time and may not be ideal for some students. School designated overload routes are in place and not changed without discussion with RDPSD administration.
Busing During Diploma Exam Period(s)
City Transit will continue transporting students using regular times up to and including the last day of exams.
The City of Red Deer provides a two day “grace period” for the start of the school year for students who access City Transit services to get to school. Bus pass holders will be able to ride the city’s Transit buses to and from school without a pass on the first two days of school. On the third day of school, students riding Transit must be in possession of a Transit Pass. Students must obtain their Transit pass (Transit Application) before the end-of-business on the second grace period day to be able to ride.
City Transit - Application Form
All eligible students wishing to access Transit services must complete a Transit Bus Application each year. LTCHS and Hunting Hills High School will start accepting applications when the bookstore opens in late August.

If the student is 2.4 kms or greater from the designated school and 2.4 kms or greater from school of choice, they will also be deemed eligible.
